Editorial policy

This page explains how articles on Nook & Nest are produced and kept accurate.

Use of AI tools

We use AI tools to research topics, draft articles and create illustrations. We say so openly in the footer of every page. AI-generated images are illustrations of an idea, not photographs of real products or homes.

Sources and fact-checking

Factual claims — safety guidance, measurements, product care, health-related advice — must come from a source that was actually opened and read, preferably government agencies, standards bodies, manufacturers or established references.

If a claim cannot be supported by a source, it is removed rather than softened. Sources are listed at the end of each article with the date they were checked.

Review before publishing

Each draft goes through an automated review that checks accuracy against the sources, unsupported statements, readability and search intent. Drafts that score below our threshold or contain any unsupported fact are revised or discarded, never published. Published articles can be corrected or withdrawn at any time.

Independence

We do not accept payment for coverage, and articles do not contain sponsored product placements. If that ever changes, the affected articles will say so clearly.

Updates and corrections

Articles are revisited when guidance changes or when search data shows readers need a clearer answer. The "Updated" date at the top of an article shows the last substantive change.

Advice here is general information. For safety, electrical, structural or health concerns, check the original source or ask a qualified professional.
